Gareth was promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer in May 2021 and is responsible for restaurant and franchising operations
Since joining the business in 1992, Gareth has held a number of roles throughout restaurant operations in the northern region, including Director of Franchising.
In 2014, he was appointed Head of Franchising where he played a significant role in leading the franchising strategy, the recruitment of new Franchisees and growing the franchised estate. He went on to be Director of National Operations, responsible for National Operations, Restaurant Services and Safety, Security & Licensing before becoming Vice President, Operations North. In this role, Gareth oversaw all restaurants in the northern region and Republic of Ireland, including franchised operations.
Most recently, Gareth was Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer, where he led the People Team across the UK, and was responsible for Human Resources, Education, Learning and Development, Diversity and Inclusion and Talent Management.
Gareth’s favourite McDonald’s menu item is the Double Cheeseburger.
