Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, McDonald’s USA
As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McDonald’s USA, Spero Droulias leads the U.S. Finance and Business Insights organizations supporting McDonald’s 14,000 U.S. restaurants. He is a member of the U.S. Senior Leadership Team and engages with franchisees through the National Franchisee Leadership Alliance (NFLA) and co-leadership of the NFLA Economics Team.
Prior to his current position, Spero was U.S. Vice President, Controller for two years, where he was responsible for all U.S. financial planning and analysis, strategic management support and financial leadership as well as provided financial leadership to the U.S. company-owned restaurants.
Since joining McDonald’s in 1995, Spero has held a variety of positions in the U.S. Business with a majority of his time gaining extensive field experience in the former Greater Chicago Region and Central Division. He notably spent three years as the Central Division Finance Officer where he provided strategic financial perspective regarding various business issues as a member of the Central Division Senior Leadership Team. He also served as the Senior Director of Global Finance Planning and Analysis and was recognized for his achievements in 1999 with the prestigious President’s Award.
Before joining McDonald’s, Spero worked for Ernst & Young for six years in the audit practice servicing consumer products and manufacturing clients.
Spero serves as the executive sponsor of the McDonald’s African American Council (MAC2) and a board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Chapter. He also is part of the Advisory Council at DePaul University and teaches in its College of Commerce.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University and is a CPA. Spero lives in Des Plaines with his wife Elaine and their three children.
